Hopefully we will keep working together and iterating on this new system.

Of course we will keep balancing the classes and the choices so that the choices are interesting for people.

Thanks for your feedback everyone.

To My Side! and Rhok'delar should be excluded from Arena.

Posted: 16 Mar 2018 07:37 AM PDT

It seems weird to me that they decided to exclude all C'thun related cards and all even/odd condition cards from Arena despite the fact that most of those cards would be perfectly playable in Arena even without their bonuses. But then when we get two Hunter cards that are absolutely not playable without their bonuses, for some reason they do not exclude them. 7 mana 4/2 weapon is unbelievably bad as is 6 mana for a 3 mana effect. Hunter isn't great in arena as is, so why arbitrarily decide to not exclude these cards from the pool yet exclude C'thun and even/odd cost cards.

Unleash the hounds Vs. 0 minions

Posted: 16 Mar 2018 01:19 PM PDT

I was recently playing a game of spell hunter vs. secret mage. I had flare in hand and my opponent had 2 secrets in play and I was fairly certain he had counterspell up. I went to trigger Unleash to proc the coutnerspell but I couldn't because he had no minions. Unleash the hounds says "For each enemy minion summon a 1/1 hound with charge". My question is according to that ruling why wouldnt we be allowed to cast it when they have no minions? Its not like other cards which need a valid target, it just target "The board" and then assign that to 0 no? I understand that its a classic card so they probably want it to be simple but I don't understand why its not allowed.

How is that possible? I'm new to the game, didn't expect that

Posted: 16 Mar 2018 03:41 AM PDT

Mods, can we get a flair or filter for people submitting images of custom cards. Around release time I always get excited when I see a card but immediately let down when it is someone's meme card.

Posted: 16 Mar 2018 07:44 AM PDT

It's all in the title. I don't want to hate on people creating meme cards but I would love to see a better way to differentiate community card posts from blizzard card posts.

Did toast have lethal here? Ignore the paint markings on board he was doing. I'm curious if anyone can see it. I can't. The most I can come up with is 46 damage.

Quick lore of all HS Legendaries (H+I)

Posted: 16 Mar 2018 05:04 AM PDT

check out my first two letters, F+G Yo, another day, another batch of nerd shit. My yesterday's post didn't do as well as I thought it could, so I am giving it a second chance to how well recieved this whole thing will go. But I am not willing to spent hours writting this up if nobody sees it, because after all, this is just me procrastinating my schoolwork.

Hadronox. Years ago, when Lich King resided in the icy lands of Northrend, he began to form an army by slowly decaying the local denizens and turning them undead, bound to his will. The local Nerubians didn't take fondly to that and started slaughtering their undead bretherin. War of the spiders they called it. Anyway, after few years the war was over and once again, the undead wins. Nowadays most nerubians you see in WoW or HS are undead, and nerubian and undead became kinda synomymous. But the remaining living spider bois are still fighting the war and they decided to unleash the giant spider Hadronox upon the nerubian capital city Azjol'Nerub, where Anub'arak rules from, right at the time when the adventures (players) decided to breach the city gates. The adventures of course just kill Hadronox on their way to kill Anub'arak. Oh well. Also, in the beta version, Hadronox was supposed to be a spawn of Maexxna.

Hallazeal the Ascended. I was ever so surprised that Hallazeal actually existed in Warcraft lore. He is a very minor character, tho. But still extremely cool. There is a Wild God(read my first post for reference) L'Ghorek, it's a giant shellfish living sucked upon the ocean floor. Anyway, the Old God cultists had bore through his shell into his slimy body and build an iron temple inside of him and are trying to control him. Hallazeal leads this operation and somewhen inbetween of doing villain shit and diggin through the brain of this giant shellfish, he decides to get ascended. Ascendants are basicly when mortals perfom rituals to become elemental beings. After he ascends, L'Ghorek tasks the players to kill Hallazeal and we do. Bam, dead.

Harrison Jones. While the Explorer's League is organized at digging and excavating, Harrison Jones (I guess still butthurt that he never got in the league) does what could only be called a grave robbing. He's still the chief archeologist of Stormwind city, but the fact that the League would rather hire murlocs over him speaks loud enough. Where there's archeology to be done, Harrison is there, ready with some stupid pop culture reference. Idk, a lot of ppl don't like him, because his involvment in one of WoW's zone basicly turns it into the reenactment of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Hemet Nesingwary is a (besides the another painfully obvious reference to real life) famous big game hunter. He is first encountered in the north part of the Stranglethorn Vale jungle, camping with his buddies besides the river. A lot of player experience made this random NPC into a lore character. You see, he handed out 3 quests, all of them were to kill 30x of various jungle game. When you FINALLY finished slaughtering the jungle wild life, he would give you quest to kill another 30 of more powerful animals. This would go on for a while. Anyway, the problem here was, the north part of Stranglethorn Vale was the first neutral zone new low level players would go to, and they would frequently hang around Nesingwary's Camp, first because of the quests, and secondly because the surrounding jungle was pitch full of deadly panthers and snakes. This made the camp a hot spot of ganking and unwanted PvP skirmishes. Everyone remembers Hemet, because everyone who played WoW remembers ressurecting before him hundred of times, just to be killed by some max lvl asshole seconds after. Oh yeah, and after the second expansion hit, he went to the new lands to hunt new animals give you endless quests again.

Hemet, Jungle Hunter is probably just one of his numerous expeditions. The bloodlust of this devilish hunter can't ever be sated. How many animals has to die, old dwarf?? Wasn't it enough already?

Herald Volazj is the buddy boi of Yog'Saron. He sent him to check up on the disturbance in the city of Azjol'Nerub, and while there, Volazj meets the same fate as Hadronox.

Hobart Grapplehammer is a normal goblin, well normal by goblin standards anyway. His list of invention includes Kaja'Cola, the Poultryizer, Town-In-A-Box, Lab-In-A-Box, the Ingenious Cap of Mook Foolery, KTC Train-a-Tron Deluxe, the Amazing G-Ray, Never-Deflating Pool Ponies, The Big Ones, Warrior-Matic NX-01, Mechashark X-Steam, Micro Mechachicken, and also his failed attempt at creating aquatic goblins, the gilgoblins, however, he's been advised to not claim the gilgoblins by his counsel, due to a negligence case brought up over them. There's a Hobart's quote that basicly tells you everything you need to know about this engineering genious "This Oshenko fella' is always using "screwdrivers" on his screws. Hasn't he ever heard of a hammer?"

Hogger is what the legacy of Warcraft is all about. Originally, Hogger was a leader of a gnoll pack in the Human starting zone of Elwynn Forest. Basicly a tier 7 villain. BUT it's not the game story what made him so important. It's the player's stories. You see, Elwynn is 1-10 level zone. Hogger was level 11 and had Elite status, thus making him extremely more potent than any other mob in the area. In WoW, if you see mob that is 5 or more levels above you, you don't see his level, instead you see a skull with two question marks. Also, his higher level level made his aggro radius huge and he could attack you before you even saw him. This would result in him one or two shoting you. He patroled a large area of the forest, so you'd never know when to expect him. The quest for his defeat suggested you'd bring atleast 3 players to bring him down, but realistically, you'd want to have a full roster of 5 to even stand a chance against him. Oh and did I mention he had exactly 666 health points? (then there was a revamp of Hogger, when instead of dying, he'd be put into the Stormwind prison and you'd had to kill him again, when the prisoners rioted and opened his cage, but that's not as cool as his original legacy)

Hogger, Doom of Elwynn. eh... Whispers of the Old Gods is in a way alternative timeline, where the Old Gods won and turned the whole world to their likings. But they didn't have to change a bit on Hogger, as he was already pretty OP.

Icehowl. YES, another Argent Tournament boss. Icehowl was an angry yeti the tournament handlers captured somewhere on the icy slopes of Storm Peak mountains and brought to the tournament grounds to DIE for Tirion's pleasure. His signature move was to charge and headbutt the arena wall, stunning him. He wasn't the smartest yeti.

Illidan Stormrage. Boi oh boi. Illidan has probably the most complicated and verbose lore of all the Warcraft characters in HS. I am gonna cut it short, first of all, everyone calls this dude 'the Betrayer'. He earned this nickname, and you'll see why. Ok, now, Illidan is basicly the edgy teen of the Stormrage family. When young, he was mad that his brother Malfurion was so much better at druidism, so he went to an arcane school instead. After graduating, he became even more of a edgy ass, and mocked Malfurion for still playing with his sticks and leafs in the forest. At this time, druidism wasn't very popular among the Night Elves. Think of it as Illidan graduating a law school, while Malfurion was playing his guitar and smoking weed, living in a trailer in the forest. But even though the scholastic succes that Illidan had, he still didn't have the one thing he envied his brother the most. The love of Tyrande. Meanwhile, the Night Elven queen, Azshara kinda fell in love with the demon overlord Sargeras and wanted to summon him into Azeroth. This sprung up a massive demon invasion that the two brothers and Tyrande had to deal with. There's a book trilogy about it, so I am not even capable of transcribing what happened. But the most important thing was what Illidan did. He joined the ranks of the elven queen and got his eyes burned out to gain a demon vision. Malfurion wasn't really happy that his brother just fucked them over, but in the end it turned out Illidan was helping the good cause, but was just being an ass about it. They defeated the invasion, but the source of the elven magic, the Well of Eternity exploded and that kinda shattered the whole continent. Anyway, Malfurion and other Nigh Elves sheepishly swore to never use magic again (that's pretty hypocritical of Malfurion, as he couldn't even cast a spell, deadbeat stoner) and they lived happily in the forest from now on. Illidan was pissed as HECK. He just finished all his exams and graduated? And for what, now he can't use any of the things he studied so hard for? Fuck that, and he contaminated the nigh elf water supply with the water from the old Well of Eternity. That was a bit too much for Malfurion and he fucking busted Illidan's ass, and imprisoned him for TEN THOUSAND YEARS.

Come ten thousand years and the Burning Legion is invading Azeroth again. While Malfurion and Tyrande are going through their lands to rally all citizens to arms, Tyrande stumbles upon the jail of Illidan. And she decides that maybe he deserves a second chance and let's him out. Illidan of course fucks up again by consuming the power of Skull of Gul'Dan the demons carried with them (idk why they had to carry it, I guess it's a shrunked voodoo head kinda thing for them). And he turns into a full on demon. Malfurion finds out again and he just doesn't have the nerves to deal with his retarded brother so he just exiles him. That's still not it. After that, Illidan is kinda torn between on which side he's on, so he contacts the demon lord Kil'jaden and accepts his mission to destroy the Lich King. So of course he fucks the planet up one more time by summoning the mutanous descendats of the elven queen Azshara, the monstrous nagas, from the depths of oceans and marches toward the icy cold Northrend to just kill the Lich King. When he finally makes it there, he clashes with Prince Arthas, who's mission is to SAVE the Lich King (and merge with him, but that's for another story). Well Illidan get's finally put to place by Arthas and get's his ass beaten. Out of shame of failing Kil'Jaden's orders, he just wants to get out and live a peaceful life somewhere new. So he and his betrayer buddies (Lady Vashj and prince Kael'Thas (they WILL one day make it to HS, I am sure) leave for Outland. There he spits in the face of Kil'Jaden by killing his friend demon lord Magtheridon and claiming the Black Temple as his, and pronouncing himself the ruler of Outland. Still not finished. Upon the Black Temple he trains his elite order of Demon Hunters, but in the end the adventurers(players) come along with Maiev, Illidan's jailor and jail him. Come ten years late and Azeroth is facing a THIRD FUCKING DEMON INVASION. This time Gul'Dan (don't ask me how he's alive when Illidan ate his skull just a paragraph ago, it's a long story), snatched Illidan's prison to use his body as a vessel for the demon overlord Sargeras. Illidan of course escapes, kill's Gul'Dan and eats his skull FOR THE SECOND TIME, WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU ILLIDAN. Then he kills his former employer, Kil'Jaden, effectively making this invasion the last invasion. Good on you, Illidan.

Inkmaster Solia is a blood elven scribe that marks the members of Kabal with specific tatoos that can't be removed, so they don't desert for other crime families. Clever if you ask me, also she's pretty much unique to HS.

Iron Juggernaut is the master invention of Siegemaster Blackfuse, a goblin Garrosh Hellscream hired to fortify his fortress of Orgrimmar. It's got hacksaws, lazers, burrow mines and breaths fire.

Ixlid, Fungal Lord is the symbiotic synergy of mud elemental and aggresive fungus, living on him. He shambles in the swamper parts of the catacombs, where a lot of mushrooms and fungi festers. Marin the Fox and kobolds alike avoid him like hell, as his spores are extremely deadly.
